what gets me about Kamla – trinidad crime

Easter weekend to tonight Wednesday a flying parade of murder, and papers reported two horrific home invasions a day apart. I estimate 23 years, 3 prime ministers, TT wracked by crime. I personally affected.

Kamla the opposition leader as reported by CNC3, wants the current security minister to pack his bags, urges she the government accept her crime plan.

Kamla Persad raises minimum wage to mere $2.50 in 2014 – I railed against beck then. I confidently characterize her administration as PITTANCE. Street workers cut the bush, $500 for moms or whatever. Marginally better when PM. None of those earned her reelection.

Worse than the incumbent PM – she a barrister and would have an insight into law unlike that one. At least he had the semi decency to permit 4 weed plants, 30 grams in your pocket permitted and freed prisoners to an extent. Baby steps compared to Uruguay.

– I railed years ago when she announced $2.50 raise to minimum wage. Woman has 0 inkling how desperate lack of a living wage leaves the majority who voted her.

– contributed to desperation another way. Hundred of thousands remained on the « breadline » for above. Other words had 0 « poverty eradication program. » Poor people find it near impossible to socially advance.

– prosecuted 0 white collar criminals.

– like Rowley only spoke of decriminalizing weed. That would help undermine white collar – no jailing needed if she so scared or is it bought? Because their profit is gone. Doing it for all dope would save the nation much blood and treasure.

– no real rehab program in the fields of crime like prostitution or of course cocaine use. Only social ways NOT her time wasting fighting of crime is the way forward.

– kept the drug war going. She instituted a state of emergency in response to gang deaths much driven by drug running. Portugal, Netherlands have minor deaths owing they have no war. The drug rehab programs would be near identical where gangs concerned.

– failed to thoroughly catch ALL involved in « millions in coke shipped out in cans. » Sounds like untouchables.

– failed to punish police who blocked traffic one morning.

– Most of all took BIG MONEY party donations no different from PNM. Ultimately serves the minority. Who cast a cruel shoulder on fellow Trinis. All said and done UNC fells alot like its rival.
