Hi- trying to get an early jump on family vacation planning for next February. Hoping I can find the ideal spot that hits these criteria: 1 – decent snorkeling from the beach – waking distance from the hotel. It doesn’t have to be incredible. Decent enough to keep a 10 year old and 8 year old engaged – and their 45 year old dad. 2- cultural element – ideally non English speaking. Would love to get the kids exposure to some non English speaking culture. With good food. Could be a short drive from a town / city center. 3 – low key / quaint / quiet. Not super touristy. No party scene. 4- accessible. Can’t really do a 5 hour bus ride with the younger kids (also have a 3 and 5 year old)
I was in Culebra about 15 years ago right on Flamenco beach and feel like that hits the mark but not sure what it’s like these days.
Any other recs? Somewhere in DR? Santo Domingo?Yelapa Beach, Tulum, or Isla Mujeres Mexico? Bocas Del Toro Panama?
Thanks!
