We feel our kids are finally grown enough (4&6) that we would like to take a family trip to the Caribbean over spring break this year. I’d like to find a smaller boutique style resort to take them, it just seems more manageable and easier to keep an eye on things. Ideally, I’m looking for a place with open air restaurant, nice beachfront, and no kid themed pools because that’s where we would spend our whole vacation. I’m looking for nature and want our family to spend time on the beach and swimming in the ocean.

We will be flying out of Charlotte, NC so something with shorter direct flights would be ideal and our budget is ~$1,000 day for the four of us, $5-7k total with flights.

I’ve been scouring trip advisor but I cannot seem to find what I’m looking for. Any suggestions?
