Looking for beach town recommendations. Help!

Hello!

I am looking for a beach town; preferably with Caribbean beaches – blue, clear and relatively calm beaches since I am not a swimmer. No sargassum. I especially like places that have good beach clubs scene.

The things I am looking for are: great healthy fresh food options; especially seafood.

Able to meet and interact with locals and tourists since I am traveling solo and want to mingle 😉 I don’t want a place where everything revolves around the resort like Cancun. I would also prefer if it isn’t mostly a couple destination but caters to friends and solo travel. I’ll be there over valentine’s day 🤦🏾‍♂️

Good live music and nightlife scene but not too crazy. No college kids.

Good beach weather in February.

I prefer a place where I don’t necessarily have to rent a car but I am open to it.

Overall, I am looking for a place to relax, eat good food, and have some fun.

A place that checked these boxes for me was Playa Del Carmen before 2018. Now it’s gone downhill; especially with the sargassum problem. I am fervently searching for a replacement.
