Need help deciding where to go!

This upcoming May, my mother (39F) and I (20F) plan on taking a trip to the Caribbean. We’ve been to Puerto Rico 3x, St. Thomas, St. Croix, and Curacao. This time around, we’re stuck between Jamaica, Roatan, and Curacao (again). We heavily prioritize good snorkeling spots (preferably right off the shore – we don’t want to get on a boat for it), clear waters, and being based in a walkable yet quiet town (although we aren’t against getting a rental car to explore further).

Barbados was on our radar as well, but it seems to be a bit pricey and food costs for example were comparable to the US.

I’m not sure what else to add that would be helpful for recommendations lol… we aren’t completely set on the 3 locations I listed, and if you recommend any place else feel free to mention! Thank you!

EDIT: Wanted to add that we aren’t big on nightlife and can appreciate good food. The trip is going to be 5 nights long & we plan on staying in 1 location / Airbnb the whole time. We do not like all-inclusive resorts and much prefer exploring ourselves. Not big on excursions either however we wouldn’t be opposed to trying some if they were offered.
