New Delhi is fully prepared for the BRICS Summit 2026. The 18th BRICS Summit is set to be held at Bharat Mandapam on September 12 and 13. With prominent world leaders and foreign dignitaries expected to attend, the capital has been placed under tight security. Delhi Police and security agencies have intensified surveillance at around 22 key locations, while sensitive areas such as the Yamuna riverbanks and the Old Fort are also being closely monitored. Several major routes are witnessing traffic diversions and restrictions due to VIP movement and security rehearsals. At the same time, Delhi has been given a makeover ahead of the summit, with road repairs, paintings and special lighting enhancing the city’s appearance. Hotels are also preparing special Indian cuisine and millet-based wellness menus to welcome foreign guests.
