Hi. I’m an American with two Dominican parents. I am planning to visit Dominica in the future (I haven’t visited Dominica since I was 5 years old in 2000) and am interested in visiting the Kalinago territory to see the Island Caribs. The nerd in me wants to have a conversation with some of the Island Caribs to hear about their history and lifestyle from their point of view. Given their history and how they essentially live remotely away from the rest of the population, I wanted to ask any Dominican if the Island Caribs would be receptive to this or any form of communication?
