ब्रिज राज भवन, जो आज भी अपने भीतर खौफनाक इतिहास समेटे हुए है।

सन 1830 में बना यह किला ब्रिटिश अधिकारियों के रहने के लिए बनाया गया था।
यहाँ एक अंग्रेज़ अधिकारी मेजर चार्ल्स बुर्टन अपने परिवार के साथ रहता था।
1857 की क्रांति में जब भारतीय सेनानियों ने हमला किया,
तो चार्ल्स और उसके बच्चों को इसी भवन में मार डाला गया।
उनकी लाशें सेंट्रल हॉल में दफन की गईं।
कुछ समय बाद, लोगों ने किले के आसपास अजीब आवाजें और साए देखे।
कहा जाता है कि मेजर बुर्टन की आत्मा आज भी यहाँ पहरा देती है।
वो किसी को नुकसान नहीं पहुँचाते —
सिवाय उन पहरेदारों के, जो ड्यूटी के वक्त सो जाते हैं।
ऐसे लोगों को अक्सर एक अदृश्य थप्पड़ महसूस होता है!
कोटा की रानी ने भी कभी बताया था —
कि उन्होंने एक बूढ़े अंग्रेज़ को देखा था, हाथ में डंडा लिए,
जो कुछ देर उन्हें घूरता रहा और फिर गायब हो गया…
आज भी रात को ब्रिज राज भवन के आसपास
कदमों की आवाज़ें, साया और धीमी फुसफुसाहटें सुनाई देती हैं।
और इसलिए, लोगों को चेतावनी दी जाती है —
“रात में कमरे से बाहर मत निकलना…”
