India’s capital, New Delhi, has been transformed into a fortress as authorities implement a massive security plan ahead of the nation’s 79th Independence Day. With Prime Minister Modi set to deliver his 12th consecutive address from the Red Fort, over 10,000 security personnel, including paramilitary forces and specialised units, have been deployed across the city. This extensive security blanket covers key locations like the Red Fort, Delhi metro stations, Indira Gandhi International Airport, and major marketplaces. To manage the expected influx of people and traffic, over 3,000 traffic police personnel are in place to handle diversions.
