À Marseille, le studio indépendant Exkee, fort de 22 ans d’expérience dans le jeu vidéo, se lance dans un projet ambitieux : Rescue Ops: Wildfire, un simulateur de pompiers centré sur les feux de forêt. Entre réalisme, hommage aux pompiers et sensibilisation aux risques des incendies, le jeu promet une immersion totale et pédagogique pour les joueurs.
À 22 ans, le studio indépendant Exkee fait figure de vétéran dans l’univers du jeu vidéo. (https://www.laprovence.com/article/economie/2964622831634114/en-paca-les-filieres-de-lanimation-et-du-jeu-video-veulent-changer-de-dimension) Fondé à Paris en 2003 par Toni Doublet, il a posé ses valises à Marseille trois ans plus tard. Depuis, il a signé plus d’une quarantaine de jeux sur PC, consoles, mobile et réalité virtuelle : « La majorité de nos productions étaient des commandes pour des éditeurs. Nous étions surtout sous-traitants. Mais nous avons aussi auto-édité quelques-uns de nos jeux, environ six ou sept, sur Steam, App Store, Google Play ou encore les stores consoles. « 
Depuis deux ans, Exkee s’est recentré sur ses propres créations, avec un projet phare, « Rescue Ops : Wildfire », un simulateur de pompiers spécialisés dans la lutte contre les feux de forêt. « La plupart des jeux existants mettent en scène des pompiers urbains, souvent américains. Nous, on a choisi un autre angle : les feux de forêt, souligne-t-il. Le jeu commence à Marseille, dans les Calanques, puis s’ouvre à d’autres zones emblématiques comme la Grèce, l’Australie ou l’Amérique du Nord. «
