Albums/EPs sang by different artists, but the same rhythm

Hello!

Before I keep on, I just want to mention I am ethnically Congolese so I am simply asking this question out of a genuine place!

But I have been a fan of Christian dancehall, reggae, kompa, soca / all of the many genres that come from the Caribbean for a little over a year now.

I had realized that there are some albums made by many artists where they all sing/rap or whatever else on a song with the same beat. Some examples could be the album I just added as a link here.

Can someone tell me if this is common in the Caribbean music scenes, more specifically in the English-speaking countries (I have not really found albums like this from the Francophone islands, which is why I specified).
