Alleviating high cost of living and inflation for the average man – trinidad affairs

Anyone saying « it happening abroad too » best march up to whoever and demand they stop tax breaks for car purchases and really « adjust » with the common man. The rest of you who actually feel for others tweak my views with suggestions. NO how should poor people exist in a rich land moreover suffer rising poverty, no less in a pandemic.

1. Expensive Food – by emergency decree boost local farming to eat on the cheap, distribute free farms; subsidize farming equipment, seeds, medicine, vehicles and other means of production. Prices are up, we import 5 billion in food yearly.
2. Wheat – no body can support raising in a pandemic, Ukraine or not. TT is rich enough to eat the cost and spare the poverty stricken consumers the burden. Guyana grows wheat, follow suite.
3. Peg wages to inflation – pittance « salary » is for those saying no to humanity and oppose. Cost of Living go up, pay does to. The Royal Castle cleaner has to live just as the business man owner does. 5 grand monthly, $30 hourly as living wage plus inflation.
4. Wealth share – from the state a GMI GUARANTEED MINIMUM INCOME OF 5 GRAND a month employed or not to persons earning not more than 200 grand yearly. YES – TT has the money COVID before and during. We are THIRD RICHEST IN THE CARIBBEAN. Workers as a business man’s slave should never have happened. Crime will drop, mental health rises. Pity i have to tell you its the people’s money. Factor in #3 persons earn no less than 5 grand by GMI, 10 including living wage.
5. Return gas subsidy – cut even before Ukraine. Mexico paid billions to keep the pump affordable so can TT. Must I explain we an oil producer and sends gas to Europe Russia no longer provides?
6. Invest in the manufacturing industry – enhance different industries. Build factories, import and hire experts, produce majority of what products imported in TT. Saves on FOREX and insulates from outside market forces and produce enough to export ourselves increasing FOREX reserves.
7. Subsidize small business – free business class; the state pays for interest free loans for SB and Micro enterprise, part of their assets needed by a business. A self made man is too busy for the criminal life.
8. diversity the economy outside oil – Arab oil states did. Clean energy, tourism, finance, shipping, transport, medical tourism – a ton of industries TT should go into at once. Job creation, poverty reduction and crime alleviation are benefits. The money’s there.
