Development vision of rural and poor areas – trinidad affairs

As can be imagined, they’re underdeveloped and hotbeds of crime. Turning them middle class by investing would do a lot for people’s lives and the nation at large.

· Self-help – important because directly gets resident participation in the projects.

· Rural renewal – sets out to modernize the COUNTRYSIDE by replacing old roofs with new ones, replace wooden structures with rugged, disaster ready homes; pave roads, introduce green energy for electricity, free WI FI outdoors, aide farming, construction of medical facilities and industry. Self-help is part of the program. Under consideration is to commit CEPEP and URP to assist the task.

· Dirt tracks – in rural areas like villages are to be paved into pathways that don’t turn muddy or dusty and state maintained. The amount of work is a good infrastructure and jobs program. Self help a part.

· Renewable rural electrification directive – aims to provide clean, RENEWABLE ENERGY in rural and remote areas of Trinidad and Tobago.

· Solar panel adoption – fitted onto many roofs and near citizen’s homes and businesses as possible. Measures taken to maintain low costs to both state and citizens in maintenance and installation. State owned offices also partake. This way less required of gas power plants and electric bill reduced.

· Solar lamp plan – light powered by battery and sun, installed as feasible in a government drive.

· Solar street lamp plan – Trinidad and Tobago streets are powered by such devices in a quickly implemented program replacing ALL traditional types.

· Housing and Rural development – rural and underdeveloped places like Laventille and Beetham will see government investment. More than fixing drains and roads. Poor and slum areas will be BEATIFIED resembling a MIDDLE CLASS Bayshore Fairways and Goodwood park, wealth inequality erased.

· Healthcare Urban and rural medical exam campaign – many do not visit doctors for checkups. This form of preventative medicine whereby the state will send personnel to these areas to test freely at minimum: cholesterol, sugar; heart; triglyceride (fats and oils). Data is stored in an electronic health record and any without a medical digital smart card with all relevant details are given one on site. Teams are recruited from the 41 constituencies and supervised by a doctor. A mobile bus version will be considered.

• South Korean national physical examination – supplements Healthcare Urban and rural medical exam campaign. Every two years citizens AND foreigners travel to a PHYSICAL EXAMINATION CENTER and undergo a series of ROUTINE EXAMINATIONS: blood work, pap smear, x ray, lung function, ECG, kidney and liver function, blood sugar, stomach cancer screen, dental screen and more. Examination centers set up in the countryside.

· Establish several COMMUNITY COLLEGES – integrated with University of the West Indies – UWI, numbering several across both islands, institutions endeavor providing two year Associate Degrees – free of charge. THIS MANNER increases the number of tertiary graduates in the nation. The facilities are not inside the neglected rural neighborhoods, but in the environs, this way permitting citizens from nearby to attend also.

· Small business and micro enterprise advantages – crime control; personal pride; product diversity; innovation; community identity; greater tax base.

· Small business class – FREE to citizens and expanded to both islands. A program of several months for entrepreneurs. The facilities are not inside the neglected rural neighborhoods, but in the environs, this way permitting citizens from nearby to attend also.

· Rural education plan – as stated set up physical schools at the environs of disadvantaged areas giving a chance to those near the communities to attend classes. Among them Laventille and Beetham. A portion of the forenamed Associate Degree COMMUNITY COLLEGES and small business schools based there.
