How hard is the Gros Piton hike?

My husband and I are planning our first big vacation in December to Saint Lucia Grande. We love walking and hiking at local parks. We want to tackle this hike, and see the views, and be able to say we did it. But how challenging is it really? I’m 28 and he’s 33. We both strength train 4 days a week. I walk 30 minutes every day on my lunch break, but it’s a flat neighborhood walk. We hike a few times a month at a more hilly park. I have asthma, so I know I would need to carry my inhaler. I also have scoliosis, and he has rheumatoid arthritis, so I expect we would both be sore.
