Initial impressions of Caribbean

I am in middle of trip through 6 caribbean islands over 2 weeks and here are my impressions:

1) St Martin – easily the most touristy. I rented a car here and stayed on French side (Marigot) French is definitely European from power outlets to fashion to euros. Some beautiful beaches – not cheap

Dutch side kind of has a Florida/Hawaii vibe full of Americans. Philippsburg is definely a tourist trap. Lots of casinos and American chains but also some good ethnic food – Dominican and Chinese

2) Antigua – only there for day and a half – took a tour and saw lots of beaches as well as English Harbour. Much fewer tourists than St Martin . Definitely could not understand local creole. Again not cheap

3) Dominica – most unique island. More waterfalls than tourists. I definitely stood out in Rouseau/ only non Caribbean person . Enthralled by nature and sulpher springs. A little less pricy than other 2. Worth seeing more of ,

Tomorrow on the ferry to Martinique, then to St Lucia, and finally Barbados. Will be interesting to see how these islands compare
