Jamaica vs Dominican Republic

Hi! My husband (31) and I (29) are looking for a beautiful, tropical, beachy, affordable destination with good food to celebrate my 30th birthday end of June! we’ll be flying out of canada and are currently stuck between Jamaica and Dominican Republic. we were thinking of Mexico first but given the World Cup and some safety concerns, thats out. never been to either or any Caribbean location for that matter. never done all inclusives either so we’re hoping to get some wisdom here. we care about safety, affordability, and want to have a good time, enjoy delicious food, maybe snorkel if that’s a possibility, and relax. we know the weather end of June may not be ideal at either destination but that’s when my birthday is!

any tips/ recommendations will be appreciated! If you’ve been to either place and have an all inclusive you’d recommend, please share! any itineraries or breakdown of how to spend 8 days in either destination also welcome! Thank you!!
